Finance dashboards traceable to every accounting entry

Problem
Finance reports were built by hand in spreadsheets exported from the ERP. Every new report meant another round of exporting and reworking, and when a funder asked how a grant had been spent, tracing a figure back to its source meant another round of manual work.
Approach
We built a read-only ETL over a site-to-site VPN that copies data from the ERP (SAP Business One), reconciles it and loads it into a ClickHouse warehouse. An API and React dashboards sit on top, with Apache Superset for self-service analysis and single sign-on for staff. Every figure links back to the accounting entry it comes from. The whole stack is open source.
Outcome
Finance staff open a dashboard instead of rebuilding a spreadsheet, and any figure in a grant report can be traced to the underlying entry in a few clicks.
